Our Medical Home commence COVID-19 vaccinations for the Penrith area

Eligible residents will be able to have their COVID-19 vaccination at Our Medical Home Penrith from 29th March 2021.

Our Medical Home Penrith has been approved as a vaccination provider for COVID-19, estimating it can deliver 1,000 vaccines per week to the Penrith community. Initially, Our Medical Home Penrith will be providing vaccinations to the Stage 1b group. The rollout to other groups will continue throughout the year.

Our Medical Home doctors are prepared for the roll-out and fully equipped with all the necessary processes in place to administer the injections in a safe, clinical environment.

“As the cornerstone of healthcare in the community, GPs are critical to the success of the COVID-19 immunisation program. Each recipient will be screened and assessed prior to their vaccination and we are focused on ensuring adequate monitoring for any reactions afterwards."

Explained clinical lead GP at Penrith, Dr Harry Pope.

GPs at Our Medical Home Penrith understand that their community look to them during these challenging times for the reassurance and continuity of care that they’re used to. Our Medical Home Penrith has COVID Safe Plans in place to alleviate any possible concerns and reduce the risk of exposure.

The second of the five phases (Stage 1b) will provide almost 15 million doses to those over 70, people with an underlying medical condition or disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, health care workers and those working in critical and high risk areas such as the police and emergency services.

“As well as being familiar with their patient’s medical history, our doctors have close connections to the diverse cultural needs of their communities. Knowing the patient’s personal history, and understanding local community concerns, helps overcome any barriers and is necessary for all of us to feel safe as we move into this next critical phase of managing the pandemic,”

Explained Henry Bateman, CEO, Cornerstone Health and Our Medical.

With nine medical centres in South-East Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne and a network of over 140 GPs, Cornerstone Health provides the community with important access to quality primary healthcare.
